This is a really fun, sweet movie. I don't usually like road trip movies much, but this one really appealed to me. I guess I have respect for Star Wars nerds (especially when they're up against Trekkies. *shudders* I have a phobia) and I myself speak in dorky film references, which endeared all these characters to me. The dialogue and visual gags all hit their marks, and the story, while simple, worked really really well. I love how the writers tiptoed around the fact that Phantom Menace was lousy while not keeping their respect for the saga intact. I'd see this again. I really like it.
Automaton Transfusion Automaton Transfusion R
This movie is awful. Really really bad. In fact, I do believe it is the worst zombie movie I have ever seen. I am so glad now that I didn't see it at the 2006 Zombie Walk. The title and the mercifully short running time are the only good things about this film. It's stiffly written, poorly acted, badly lit and shot on ugly film stock. The actors have no talent, the plot has no story, none of the characters are likable or even appropriately cast and the dialogue is robotic and unnatural. Even the gore effects, while displaying a certain level of inventiveness, are poorly executed and not for a second believable. Fuck, this movie is so bad, it's not even enjoyable. In fact, the only pleasure I got from watching this movie was envisioning the nasty things I was going to say about it in this review. What a waste. I had such high hopes for this, too.

This is my favorite movie. Visually beautiful and with a poetic script, it personifies the music that inspired the comic book. Brandon Lee is stellar as Eric Draven (and he has a great voice). This film is a work of art.
The Matrix The Matrix R
What can I say about the first perfect movie I have ever seen? Stands its ground as its own movie or, if you have eight hours a trilogy operatic in its scope. Beautiful in every way, was the forerunner of the new wave of fight-as-art theme in new movies.
