The Proposal
PG-13
I enjoyed The Proposal. But, I am sucker for romance and sometimes chick flicks, I like a fair amount of cheese with my film entertainment, and I want to lick a variety of substances off of Ryan Reynolds toned body.
Yes, you can see parts of the plot unfolding before your very eyes, but I still enjoyed this movie. And to it's credit, they did add a few little twists here and there.
I do enjoy Sandra Bullock as well, so I liked seeing her in this. She still looks great. It was nice to see Craig T. Nelson as the dad. I haven't seen much of him since his Coach days. I love Mary Steenburgen. Although she wasn't as comically intriguing as in Stepbrothers, she was still good. Betty White is always a joy to watch. Although, nothing will beat Mrs. Bickerman from Lake Placid or Rose Nylund from The Golden Girls, she is still a joy to watch on the screen.
If you like chick flicks and romantic comedies, you will want to check out The Proposal.
Imagine That
PG
Imagine Eddie Murphy's career slowly going down the toilet. Oh wait, if you've seen this movie, you don't have to imagine anything.
Imagine That is the story of Evan Danielson. A busy stock broker who has little time for his child, after his divorce. Until he figures out that his daughter can go to an imaginary place, with the help of her guga. A blanket that transports her there. In this imaginary kingdom are three princesses and a queen who are very wise in the ways of financial investments. ( Yeah I was thinking the same thing right about then. )
Did I mention that this movie features Thomas Haden Church as a nature loving indian named Johnny Whitefeather? I only mention it, because if you do see this movie, you may want to hit the mute button every time he comes on screen. It will save the headache later. Oh how quickly they fall.
The little girl that played Olivia was adorable and she did get to sing a Beatles song. That was the one star.
This movie has a simple, although boring message... All you really need is love. In this case, the love between a father and a daughter. Unfortunately for this film, not even love, or the use of a classic Beatles song, or a cameo by the remarkable Martin Sheen ( he must have owed someone a really big favor for agreeing to this pile. ) could save this travesty. It billed itself as a lovable family comedy, but even my seven year old was bored within the first twenty minutes. Bad sign.

Say Anything...
PG-13
This is my all time favorite movie, and my favorite movie by Cameron Crow.
John Cusack is one of my favorite actors. He won the hearts of thousands of girls in this one, playing Lloyd. Joan Cusack, Lily Taylor, Ione Skye, and John Mahoney were also good in this one. Who could forget the tragic love lost line... " I gave her my heart, and she gave me a pen."

This is by far my favorite Kevin Smith movie. Jason Lee was a comic gold mine in this one, as Brody.
