Mel Gibson has confirmed reports that he has become a father for the eighth time.
The Passion Of The Christ star and girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva welcomed daughter Lucia at a hospital in Los Angeles on Friday.
A representative for Gibson declined to reveal any further details.
Speaking to People, a friend of the couple said: "Everything is great! They couldn't be happier.
"Everyone's healthy and thrilled. He loves it!"
Gibson, 53, already has seven children from his marriage to ex-wife Robyn, while Oksana has a son with actor Timothy Dalton.
