Critic Reviews
These films take years to produce, so The Wild isn't exactly a ripoff -- but it isn't exactly fun, either. full review
As far as story is concerned, the whole thing feels like a rerun of a raucous Saturday-morning television show aimed at hell-raising five-year-olds. full review
The movie has a lot more action than Ice Age: The Meltdown, which was essentially one long trek. full review
This is a movie to make you cherish Pixar all the more; where every pixel and plot turn in Finding Nemo snaps organically into place, The Wild strains just to get to the end of a scene. full review
It's a funny, compassionate, emotionally engaging movie that prompts both laughs and a lump in the throat. full review
There's something foul about this latest animated adventure's blatant plush toy-ready construction. full review

October 13, 2006I kind of like this movie. It was cute and sure it was similar to Madagascar and a lot of other Disney films- the Lion King, to name one. There were plenty of scenes that were coppies of that... But! Who's to say its not the other way around. Now I am not blaming anyone, but whos to say that Dreamworks didn't get some kind of memo that Disney was making a film called The Wild and it was about animals escaping the zoo. Who to say Dreamworks didn't copy Disney- who cares if theirs came out first? Theirs was also not as well animated as Disneys- maybe while Disney was fixing up the animation, Dreamworks sent theirs out with the ok for a kid's film, but frustratingly inacurate animation... But, whatever! I enjoyed this film, and while the begining was like Madagascar, the ending was nothing like it! And, the story line between the father and son, I thought that was rather excellent! Personally, I really enjoyed this movie! The humor could have been more kid friendly, but otherwise...
