Funny, most of the girls recommended this movie to me. "You have to watch it! It's so good!" Really!? I was expecting something new, but it was just another typical romantic comedy. It was watchable, but predictable. The bf and I made a bet if they would end up or not, let's say ...( read more)

Choppy, unbelievable romcom with Heigl playing yet another unlikable character. Overcomes some of its woes through the sheer audacity of its dialogue, which is surprisingly profane at times.

Katherine Heigl is fine. Gerald Butler has trouble pulling off an American accent. Enjoyable.

I'm not even going to waste my time telling you about this film. The ugly truth is that this movie sucks. It's basically the same, old fashioned, chick flick formula that only gains half a star because Gerard Butler tends to use the F word a lot.

I had no idea this movie was written for an adolescent male until it was too late. I feel bad for Katherine Heigl that she even made this movie- what a step down from Grey's Anatomy. I fell asleep somewhere after the vibrating panties scene. I don't recommend it.

The ugly truth about The Ugly Truth is the fact that -- funny though it is -- it could have been a whole lot funnier. full review
Until that final, inevitable kiss, we have to listen to them, and the clatter of their crude, brainless exchanges is unbearable. full review
The film is so predictable that it might as well have been written as a test classroom exercise in RomCom 101. full review
Contrived as a crossover between a female-friendly romantic comedy and a male-targeted, anti-political correctness jab, The Ugly Truth veers between crude and cloying. full review
A blandly raunchy star vehicle that does its stars few favors. full review
Toss this ugly crap to the curb, along with the other multiplex garbage, and see a romance that gets it right. I'm talking (500) Days of Summer. full review
Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler are so pleasant in The Ugly Truth that it's a shame to spoil their party. But toil and try as they do, the comedy bogs down in relentless predictability and the puzzl... full review
This Butler-Heigl mismatch drop-kicks romcom from the RocknRolla sublime to the Apatow depths. full review

August 15, 2009I really like Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. The acting was very good in this movie, however I think they had far too much information on sex. A little goes along ways. More story line and leave some things to your imagination.
