Landmark cult film about the relationship between a long legged trapeze artist named Cleopatra and Hans, the dwarf she marries. Uncategorizable film is creepy and disturbing, but also touching and sweet. What makes this film so unique is director Tod Browning's controversial st...( read more)

"Gooble Gobble! Gooble Gobble! One of us!"
I'm sure that 'Freaks' was a very controversial film when it came out. There's no special make up effects, Tod Browning has used persons with real deformities.
It actually works very well, even better than modern horror movies. 'Freak...( read more) -

One of my favorite Tod Browning films. Considered controversial (especially at the time of its release), for his use of actors with actual deformities.

October 24, 2006I've always been a big fan of grayscaled movies, and Freaks is actually one of the best. I think it's kinda' sad, becouse my parents told me that when they made the movie the so called "freaks" did'nt even get payed or anything. Only becouse the most of them could'nt say no. But still, I like the movie very much. It shows that even if your not like others, your still human. And that's what I belive in aswell. :)
