Reign Over Me
Ok,

I knew very little about this movie going into it,which was good,no prejudgements,or hearing "It's so Great" or It's complete crap" on either side,So I was wide open for this one.I was not expecting such a fantastic movie.First of all the versatility with Adam Sandler's charaters is very refreshin,in my opinion this is an Oscar worthy performance from him.Great cast very well rounded and balenced for the sensitivity of this movie.,I love everything that Don Cheadle ever stars in,he never disappoints,Don't worry this is not a chick flick by any means, the content and storyline is very deep.I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it but I can only imagine that anyone is his situation would have closed off this way as a self protection,A person can only handle so mauch pain and grief at once.Agin all my credit to Adam on this one,he put his heart and soul into this character and won me over.Excellent,When you all are in the mood for a great Drama this is the next one you want to see.=)

We Are Marshall
First of all I want to say Hands down this is the best Football movie I have ever seen.I think we need more stars than 5 cause I dam sure wanted to rate this higher.Friends listen to me,Make this movie a top priority.A true story of a school that lost its team, and a town that lost their hope until one day 1 man stepped up to a brutal challenge of trying to change that town.Matthew McConaughey delivers a Stellar performance as coach Jack Lengyel,he moved his family into the town in the middle of the worst pain and devastation they had ever known, and proved to them as long as you dream, and never give up you can change a team and a town.I kid you not,Man or Woman this movie WILL make you cry! And you will hold your breath until the final moments of this tremendous film, and finally it will make you want to jump out of your seat and with a thunderous Roar Scream "We Are Marshall!"SEE THIS MOVIE ASAP!!

Hotaru no haka (Grave of the Fireflies)
Absolutely Heartwrenching! I am so glad that you guys send me your recommendations.I would have never ever known about this wonderful movie without having my Flix buddies.Have the tissues ready was right (Alex) lol.Oh my gosh this is so sad.I was ready for sad,not ready ready for a gut-wrenching overflow of tears.A story about a boy that is forced into a parent role of his little (adorable) sister Setsuko due to the death of his parents. He does everything he can for her,but is so young himself, just does not have the life skills,or means to do anything.Through the many bombings they had lost everything it was pretty much the 2 of them with a few stray belongings. But his love for her was fierce, she was all he had left.I don't want to say too much more, but this is such a deep, touching movie everyone should see this.I absolutely recommend this movie be the very next one you see!! =)

A Walk to Remember
Ahhhh God,22 and a half tissues later. This was really good,Yep going to the Tearjerker list with this one.If you haven't seen it,have a FULL box of tissues handy.Cause if you aren't crying through half this dam movie you got the dam burning watermelon stuck in your throat that is threatening to burst at any moment.Fair warning.Excellent movie.Highly recommended! =) (sniff)
73
Into the Wild (2007,  R)
Into the Wild
Christopher McCandless: [written into book] Happiness only real when shared.

(In and of itself,How powerful and profound is that?)This is movie was so much more than I expected.A real journey,a breaking free from everything.Emile Hirsch has a whole new respect in my book, any actor thats willing to drop alot of weight for films is pretty dedicated.I also read some other interesting things on IMDB.Anyway this is a very emotionally driven movie. It was so sad at points with his family that was left behind,so utterly broken from his 'disapperance'.Only his sister really understood him.He met some unconventional characters along the way,he had fun,he had an amazing adventure and this man saw things in this world most of us will never ever, even get close to.He found the beauty in the simplicity of just being. This is a beautiful but tragic true story this is highly recommended =)
74
Fried Green Tomatoes (1991,  PG-13)
Fried Green Tomatoes
Another superior movie that has eluded me for far too long.I have always loved Kathy Bates,In this movie you cannot help fall in love with her character. She is the greatest person, would do anything for anyone, except herself really. Her underdog tone in this movie is very believable,so does get a backbone down the line but the journey is sad and funny at the same time.I also have loved Mary Stuart Masterson forever, this was a stellar cast of women, although this is not just a movie for women or your typical chick flick at all.I will also add this every once in a while to break away from the glitz and digitally explosive hollywood is a great thing. You take a story that is very special and combine it with such a well rounded cast you create magic. The amazing thing is,For any woman if you are 17-75 you WILL find some part of this movie or one of the characters that you can relate to,or are maybe in the same sort of situation, there really is something here for everyone,I am truly ashamed with myself that I let this one go as long as I have.See it!!!
75
P.S. I Love You (2007,  PG-13)
P.S. I Love You
Ahhh man,get the tissues ready for this one. This is one of the sweetest love stories I have ever seen.I love Hillary Swank already, she played this amazingly well.Much better than I expected,The few bad reviews on this I read,I dont know if me and those folks were even watching the same movie.Very good, highly recommended!
76
The Deer Hunter (1978,  R)
The Deer Hunter
Good Lord,How excellent is this movie!!??. I remembered things about half way through it and realized I had watched this as a child.HELLO.WTF were my parents think9ing?Anyway such a tremendous cast.God I love Christopher Walken,he is just smooth as hell, and dammmm diddy damm De Niro looks HOT with a beard.Anyway Excellent yet very emotional story of a great group of friends from a small town and the way the Vietnam war changed everything about them.Excellent movie,I can't give this anymore stars,I wish I could. If you have not seen this you need too.=)
77
Atonement (2007,  R)
Atonement
Amazing! At first I thought it was a little slow, and was wondering just exactly what was going on.But once I got into it and followed it,the story sucks you in,Wow shows what can happen when a person carries a deep dark secret their whole life,Definitely Oscar caliber performances ,great cast excellent storyline. You don't want to miss this one! =)
78
An American Crime (2007,  R)
An American Crime
Ohhhh, boy Ok as a mother you WILL have a very hard time watching this. It's like basically your worse nightmare come true.I would have never left my kids with a perfect stranger to begin with, but it was a different time then,People were more trusting and Gertrude went to church and to the outsiders put off the "Oh poor me,I am broke, and I have too many kids, but I go to church and I am a good person"BULLSHIT mask! This movie is disturbing in ways that enrage me as a mother, that any woman could allow this to go on in her own home, and then let the whole dam neighborhood kids come in and beat the crap out of her,Oh hell no!This chick was totally off her rocker she should have never had custody of ANY of her children ever.Ellen Page is truly a remarkable actress for her age,and I think she should have been nominated for an Oscar for This movie a hell of a lot more than Juno. She was Incredible in this and that is an understatement. The fact that this is a true story will haunt me for a very long time.See it,Just be warned.
79
Le Scaphandre et le Papillon (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) (2007,  PG-13)
Le Scaphandre et le Papillon (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly)
This is literally the most gut wrenching movie I have ever sat through. It's very sad.You wonder how people find the strength to go on when something so horrific happens to them, especially in their early 40's.I was blown away this is a true story.I want to do a little more research on this "locked in syndrome",It's incredibly brave, most people I would think would try to find a way to commit suicide rather than live their whole lives like that. This man was so brave. He had such and understanding support system of nurses, family. It's sad but you find some happiness in it, the way he deals with things, the whole movie is narrated by his thoughts.I absolutely 110% recommend this treasure of a movie =)

Snow Cake (2006,  Unrated)
Snow Cake
This movie is powerful,,I am now a huge Alan Rickman fan him and Sigourney Weaver are are a tremendous force in this brilliant film. Why did I never hear about this movie till last week?I don't understand why this didn't get 10 Oscars!Amazing ,AMAZING acting on Sigourney Weaver's part as an autistic mother that loses her daughter in a car accident,Alan Rickman (not wanting to spoil anything) is there with her to pick up the pieces of her life. seriously this is a beautiful MUST see film, alot of very funny moments too.Oh,and I will never ever play scrabble the same way again,I like their set of rules MUCH better. SEE IT SOON! =)
82
Away from Her (2007,  PG-13)
Away from Her
Heart wrenching and beautiful,Wow this man had a fierce love for his wife, any woman should be so lucky,I was there spot on with every aspect of this film UNTIL,the adultery although I can understand the loneliness the 2 (other) partners must have been feeling I just was hoping that wouldn't happen.Anyway other than that this was simply brilliant, loved the story I loved Their love and great ,great acting.Highly recommended.=)
83
The Secret Life of Bees (2008,  PG-13)
The Secret Life of Bees
Beautiful and Brilliant!! A Solid cast gives this movie the life that this emotionally driven story needs.Dakota Fanning shines, this little lady has proved herself time and again and I have huge respect for her stepping out of the box and taking roles such as this. This movie is a gut wrenching emotional power house,be warned if you do not have a box of tissues ready,You didn't come prepared.See this soon! Very Highly Recommended!!! =)

Brian's Song (1970,  G)
Brian's Song
Older movie,However some stories are timeless This is one of them.An amazing friendship formed around the common passion for Football until tragedy strikes and bond grows deeper.I don't want to spoil anything if you have not yet seen this amazing movie. It's a fantastic football movie and a true story,A must see for any fan of Football.=)

Seven Pounds (2008,  PG-13)
Seven Pounds
I have wanted to see this since the minute I saw the trailer for the first time.It was well worth the wait.A little confusing in the beginning ,but it is supposed to be that way.I am glad I didn't figure this one out right away ,I enjoyed this movie all the more for it.Very heartfelt and moving Seven pounds sends out a powerful message that will really make you think about things in your own life. This is a must see.Highly recommended.Oh and be ready with some tissues.=)
87
Taking Chance (2009,  Unrated)
Taking Chance
I wish I had more stars for this one. This is a must see,A raw,gut wrenching reminder that we are still in a country fighting a war that is so pointless.Taking Chance is a story about Marine Corp Lt. Col (played by Kevin Bacon) that offers to be an escort for Chance to see his body safely back into the arms of his family for his burial. It's a stark reminder like I said as we get busy with our lives and sometimes tend to forget this thing is still not over and there are many "Chance's" coming back in body bags every day.Very sad,But outstanding movie,Kevin Bacon did a spectacular job with his role, very honorable and believable.Totally recommending this movie.=)
88
My Sister's Keeper (2009,  PG-13)
My Sister's Keeper
OK lesson learned never underestimate a Nick Cassavetes film.Anyone who had their heart captured by the brilliant man that brought us The Notebook will probably love this film. You go into it knowing that you are dealing with an uneasy subject matter from the get go,so as long as you have come to grips with that and have several tissues on stand by you will be fine. The cast was amazing,ALL of them.I do have to say the standout for me in this one absolutely has to be Cameron Diaz. She showed me before that she could shake the giggly girl next door image when she took on Any Given Sunday. She has proven to me once again to NOT put her into any single catagory for a film. She was a character that embraced the mother role very well and the over-bearing never want to give up on her sick child mother even better. Was what she did right or wrong who is to say?I am not God and I am dam sure not going to judge others for situations such as this because I don't like being judged either. However coming from the standpoint of being a mother myself I cannot imagine the enormity of making decisions like this and trying to justify to yourself and the world around you that you just want your child to live. There is depth and balance in this movie and a bittersweet balance that really kind of surprised me was Alec Baldwin's role, very well done.I will recommend this movie to everyone I see whenever I hear the name, you can bet on it.SEE THIS FILM!
