Nothing short of Amazing.I felt I owed this to my Dad who was in the Marine Corps. He was a Gunnery Sargent forever. He served in Both Korea and the Vietnam wars.He is still alive and ticking and got all his wits about him. After seeing as many war movies as I have I don't see how this man is still as intact as he seems.Anyway He is my hero always will be PERIOD.This movie was spine chilling.I loved it from minute one.Gosh the cast was not only stellar, but dam they were so young.I just don't know what else to say but dam if you haven't seen this one yet you owe it to yourself to do so.It really is something very special.

August Rush (2007,  PG)
August Rush
I really didn't know what this movie was about before I saw it,which is a good thing after reading some of the other Flixster reviews now.Anyways I think that this is probably one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen.Keri Russell is absolutely glowing beautiful in this.Jonathan Rhys Meyers equally as beautiful lol and has a really good voice it turns out.The story is very touching very heartfelt,I have not been MOVED by a movie like this in forever.I am not going to shut up about this one for quite a while.Little Freddie Highmore has such a brilliant future ahead of him.I am a huge music lover so this was extra special for me.If you are a music lover sit back and turn this movie way up to truly enjoy all August Rush has to give,it would be a big disserivce not to.It is ear candy so tantilizing you develop this insatiable hunger for more the longer you watch it.Yes it magical,Yes it is beautiful and Yes although it may be a little predictable I guarantee you have never seen anything like this before SEE IT SOON! =)

We Are Marshall
First of all I want to say Hands down this is the best Football movie I have ever seen.I think we need more stars than 5 cause I dam sure wanted to rate this higher.Friends listen to me,Make this movie a top priority.A true story of a school that lost its team, and a town that lost their hope until one day 1 man stepped up to a brutal challenge of trying to change that town.Matthew McConaughey delivers a Stellar performance as coach Jack Lengyel,he moved his family into the town in the middle of the worst pain and devastation they had ever known, and proved to them as long as you dream, and never give up you can change a team and a town.I kid you not,Man or Woman this movie WILL make you cry! And you will hold your breath until the final moments of this tremendous film, and finally it will make you want to jump out of your seat and with a thunderous Roar Scream "We Are Marshall!"SEE THIS MOVIE ASAP!!

Into the Wild (2007,  R)
Into the Wild
Christopher McCandless: [written into book] Happiness only real when shared.

(In and of itself,How powerful and profound is that?)This is movie was so much more than I expected.A real journey,a breaking free from everything.Emile Hirsch has a whole new respect in my book, any actor thats willing to drop alot of weight for films is pretty dedicated.I also read some other interesting things on IMDB.Anyway this is a very emotionally driven movie. It was so sad at points with his family that was left behind,so utterly broken from his 'disapperance'.Only his sister really understood him.He met some unconventional characters along the way,he had fun,he had an amazing adventure and this man saw things in this world most of us will never ever, even get close to.He found the beauty in the simplicity of just being. This is a beautiful but tragic true story this is highly recommended =)

Good Lord,How excellent is this movie!!??. I remembered things about half way through it and realized I had watched this as a child.HELLO.WTF were my parents think9ing?Anyway such a tremendous cast.God I love Christopher Walken,he is just smooth as hell, and dammmm diddy damm De Niro looks HOT with a beard.Anyway Excellent yet very emotional story of a great group of friends from a small town and the way the Vietnam war changed everything about them.Excellent movie,I can't give this anymore stars,I wish I could. If you have not seen this you need too.=)

Once (2007,  R)
Once
Wow so what do you get when you take a story,A Plot and strip down and beat all the "Hollywood" off of it?Scary thought huh?Yes,Because then you are dependent oin2 things a story that can carry itself, and then actors who are convincing enough to keep you interested in that story. Not to mention I have never even heard of the actors that were in this before seeing it.However it doesn't matter something big came from something very small. This movie was likre the little engine that could It's like a present from your best friend that means so much to you,and is so dear, you want to keep it and hold it as close to your heart as possible. If you could just ball it up and keep it in your shirt ,or jacket pocket all day and just take it out and listen, and feel what is really being said here from time to time. How do you explain a movie that is so great and so full of passion, and explain, there are no explosions,no exciting 40 minute sex marathons,no non-stop comedy, but yet everyone should see this.I guarantee there is something in everyone's life that they are going through right now,This very day, this movie will move you,and hone in and kick that very emotion into high gear.I for once and kind of left speechless again,All I can say is the movie is Amazing yes,I say that alot, but saying it here is an understatement. Its beautiful its is simple,it's just like life,Enjoy this one,EVERYONE should see this.Men this is not a chick flick there is a story for you here too,I swear.=)

Hotaru no haka (Grave of the Fireflies)
Absolutely Heartwrenching! I am so glad that you guys send me your recommendations.I would have never ever known about this wonderful movie without having my Flix buddies.Have the tissues ready was right (Alex) lol.Oh my gosh this is so sad.I was ready for sad,not ready ready for a gut-wrenching overflow of tears.A story about a boy that is forced into a parent role of his little (adorable) sister Setsuko due to the death of his parents. He does everything he can for her,but is so young himself, just does not have the life skills,or means to do anything.Through the many bombings they had lost everything it was pretty much the 2 of them with a few stray belongings. But his love for her was fierce, she was all he had left.I don't want to say too much more, but this is such a deep, touching movie everyone should see this.I absolutely recommend this movie be the very next one you see!! =)

This list started out awesome, but has several "huh?' movies listed. I don't think these movies are worthy: The Patriot (not Braveheart?) Clash of the Titans, the Black Hole, the Santa Clause (THE SANTA CLAUSE????) National Treasure, Gremlins, Mrs. Doubtfire, Gone in 60 Seconds, We Are Marshall

Movies I think deserve to be on a list like this: Platoon, Dr. Zhivago, LA Confidential, True Romance, Cinderella Man, Road Warrior, The Color Purple, The Sting, Unforgiven, to name a few.
