JAKE GYLLENHAAL

Born December 19, 1980, Jake has turned into quite the leading man over the years.

Jake was born in Los Angeles, California. His parents are Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Foner, who are both in the movie business - his father is a director and his mom is a film producer and screenwriter. He has a sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is also an actress that has risen to fame over the years.

Jake is of Jewish and Swedish ancestry. His mom was from a Jewish family out of New York City, and he had his Bar Mitzvah at a homeless shelter because his parents wanted to instill a sense of gratitude for the priviledged life he was leading. His father was raised in the Swedenborgnian religion, and his last native Swedish ancestor is his uncle Anders Leonard Gyllenhaal - they are decendants of the noble Gyllenhaal family.

Jake grew up in the industry, and his film debut was at age 11 as the son of Billy Crystal's character in the film, City Slickers. Jake has since gone on to appear in several popular movies. Early in his career, he appeared in October Sky, Donnie Darko, and Bubble Boy.

He's appeared in more recent popular movies including The Day After Tomorrow and Jarhead, but his best role and most well known was his role in Brokeback Mountain starring opposite the late Heath Ledger.

Jake is currently romantically linked to actress Reese Witherspoon. He is the uncle Ramona Sarsgaard, child of his sister Maggie and Peter Sarsgaard, and godfather to Matilda Rose Ledger, daughter of the late Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams. Jaime Lee Curtis is Jake's Godmother.

No matter if Jakes reads it or not, i just think that there are very few young actors that are real good at acting ....and he is certainly the best that gives emotions..to the audience.
